I've been thinking a lot lately about painting a couple pieces of furniture. I would love to take some of the mismatch or previously painted pieces and choose some dramatic, eye-popping colors. Do I need to have the remaining room decor set in stone? Or can I choose a nice color, then decorate around it? What do you think?

making changes
Good morning to you! I hope you had a nice start to your week. My day yesterday was quite productive, which was wonderful. For the past four months or so I've had this plan. Its basic really. I would love to get up early and take Duncan on a walk/jog, then do pilates. That is all; I'm not asking much of myself. I, however, am a big night owl and definitely not a morning person. I get my second wind around 9:30 at night and don't get to bed until almost midnight. Oh, I'm also a bit high maintenance - I need eight hours of sleep minimum. What to do! Have any of you successfully made a schedule shift? How did you do it?

simplicity
Hi everyone! Did you enjoy your weekend? I did, and as usual it just seemed to fly right by! I love this room because it is a great example that simplicity is key. It looks so put-together and lovely, but is really very basic. Maybe if I keep this room in mind when decorating, I'll stop buying items to fill the house with! Have a great Monday, everyone!

the challenge of a nice room
Hello all! How are you? Lately, I've just been dreaming of having a room as wonderful and as put-together as this one. Don't you just love it? Every bit seems thought out and the color palette is to die for! This week we moved Duncan kennel upstairs to accommodate his high maintenance ways, the only available space being the dining room. I had just finished my chandelier upgrade and purchased new curtains and it had quickly become my favorite room of the house. Oh well, I do love him more than I love that room. Maybe I'll come across some lovely cover. Have a good one!

beachy thoughts
Hello everyone! How are ya? Lately I've been thinking a lot about one thing in particular: VACATION. While we don't have one semi-planned until late August/early September, I'm already thinking about being near water, in the sun and doing new things. Wouldn't you just love to stay in one of these rooms?
Sign me up! Have a great day, everyone!

happy sunny friday!
Hello! Are you looking forward to your weekend? I certainly am. I have more or less nothing planned and am loving it. I'm excited to enjoy the sunshine (its not supposed to rain, right??) without anywhere to be! That rarely happens on a summer weekend so I plan to take full advantage. Whatever you're doing, I hope you enjoy it!

the dog ate my shoes
Flip-flops to be exact. This was after chewing up a cigar (but, don't worry, not actually ingesting it), eating Chris's belt, our host's vacuum attachment and chewing on a duffel bag. He's been on a roll and I'm trying to stay positive, but still teach life-lessons that will hopefully result in no more ruined items. I'm off to get ready and find something that does not require brown footwear! Have a great day!
