Snow Day!

Where would the statement "snow day" be without the exclamation mark? You just have to be excited about it. Today has been a wonderful combination of coffee and tea, slippers and snow boots, productivity and non-productivity ... and finally! A new post.

The picturesque rooftop view from my window:

After digging our cars out of the icy snow, we went on a walk. Everything was so pretty, dusted with (or buried in) snow. Little berries and twigs were encased in ice three times their thickness. Beautiful!

How gorgeous is the bright red of those berries against the dark twigs and white snow? (Are they berries?? Looks like it to me)

five

I am LOVING this Christmas gift, in particular. It was an incredibly thoughtful gift from my aunt, filled with inspirational quotes and awesome design. I have always been a fan of Kobi Yamada and this is my first of his books. In fact, it inspired me to get moving with "30 duo" in the new year. The cover of my book, the Starbucks version, is a wonderful olive green and chocolate brown, but it looks like the pages are the same.

I have yet to write in it, for fear of "messing it up," which I believe may be the opposite of the point of the book! I keep flipping through, but I definitely need to sit and fulfill the book's purpose.

The back cover says: "What is life for? It is for you." -Abraham Maslow. So uplifting.

I'm off to browse all of their options!

the first of many

Well, hello there. My site is very bare right now.. no "about me" or fun links to peruse, quite yet, but what better way than post number 1? I will start out by answering the question, "30 duo?" The goal of my blog is to spread the word about my work and post all things creative that inspire and/or delight me. My hope is to build a blog that you would love to have in your "bookmarks" section, along with the wonderful stylemepretty and apartment therapy. High hopes, but a girl can dream.

In my spare time, I have been creating wall art. I love design and I love decorating, so I have fused the two.
In my oh-so humble abode: (please ignore the image quality)

That'll do it for my first post. I would love to hear your comments!
Until next time....
